#30 - Minnesota Vikings
Devin McCourty
Cornerback
Rutgers
With the success the Vikings experienced in 2009 the organization wishes
they either signed Brett Favre sooner or he will stop aging. The Vikings
will need to address that issue in the 2010 draft. However, five of the six
cornerbacks on the roster will be free agents. The Vikings will make an
effort to resign some, but not all. Antoine Winfield will have to prove he is
able to recover from a broken foot that limited his capability towards the
end of the season. Devin McCourty would help shore up the secondary
and even provide starting potential. McCourty accumulated 231 career
tackles, 6 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 2 touchdowns.  A physical
corner with great speed and cover ability. He has the toughness of Winfield
(yet bigger) and the ability to cover receivers one-on-one. As the draft
approaches, another key position to consider is the defensive tackle
position. Depending on Pat Williams' decision to retire or not, the Vikings
may look to replace him on the d-line which is the teams strength. Either
way, McCourty provides great value and will make an impact for the Vikings
in 2010 both on defense and special teams.
The Indianapolis Colts do one of the best jobs personnel wise in the NFL.  Bill
Polian knows how to evaluate players, especially low-profile players that fit into
the Colts scheme.  Polian is able to consistently find the proverbial "gem"
regardless if its via free agency or the draft.  Charles Brown fits into the Colts
scheme perfectly.  He is light-footed, agile, and most importantly able to protect
the quarterback.  Brown can attribute much of his speed and athleticism to his
tightend days.  Brown came to USC as a tightend, but was able to bulk up and
transition to the left tackle position.  Former first round draft pick Tony Ugoh has
not lived up to his potential and was benched in 2009. Current starter Charlie
Johnson has performed admirably, but is a unrestricted free agent this year.
Regardless if Johnson is re-signed or not, the Colts could add depth and talent
to the offensive line. Brown will fall into the Colts game plan easily and be
considered another "gem" pick up by Polian and the organization.
#32 - New Orleans Saints
Sean Weatherspoon
Outside LInebacker
Missourri
In 2009, the Saints decided to address the secondary rather than the
linebacking corp. The move has provided dividends as Darren Sharper is
proving why he is a Hall of Famer, and 1st round pick Jenkins is going
to be a star.  However, the 2010 draft will focus on starting potential and
depth at the linebacker position.  Scott Shanle is your typical, fill-in
outside linebacker. Scott Fujita is in the same category, being an
average linebacker who lacks big-play ability. Jonathan Vilma was an
elite MLB early in his career with the Jets, but has lacked the same
success while in New Orleans. 2010 brings in the era of the versatile
prospect Sean Weatherspoon.
Weatherspoon is one of the best outside
linebackers and overall defensive players in the 2010 draft.  Starting as a
Sophomore, Weatherspoon blossomed into a dominant athlete and leader.
Since 2007, #12 of Missouri has accumulated 345 tackles, 10 sacks, and 4
interceptions (these numbers will increase as the 2009 season is only half
way complete). I predict Weatherspoon to be an immediate starter for the
Saints and is a player who will thrive in Greg Williams' defense.

#27 - Dallas Cowboys
Brandon Spikes
Linebacker
Florida
The Dallas Cowboys have very few holes in their team/depth chart. The
organization does a great job of finding players, keeping players, and
developing talent. The Cowboys have two aging players at MLB in Bradie
James (29) and Keith Brooking (34) and an underachiever in Carpenter.
The biggest need for Dallas right now is the safety position. However, a
player of Spikes' calliber is difficult to pass up. Spikes could have forgone
his senior year to potentially be a top 15 draft pick. Many are over critical
about his mediocre combine numbers and disregarding the impact he
made on the field. Not only is Spikes the BPA at this point, but in my
opinion, he is almost on par with stud Crimsontide player: McClain.
Spikes led arguably the most dominant defense in the NCAA two years
in a row. The star MLB is solid against the run and is almost just as good
dropping into coverage. The zone-blitz schemes used at Florida allowed
Spikes to showcase his full potential. If Spikes falls out of the top 25, look for an eager team like
Dallas to pounce all over him. Spikes will be a much welcomed addition to any NFL team.
#28 - San Diego Chargers
Dan Williams
Defensive Tackle
Tennessee
Veteran, Jamaal Williams was released and signed with division rival,
Denver. This is not a surprise, considering his age, salary and frequent
injuries. In 2009, he was placed on Injured Reserve. At age 33, Williams
was due to earn $5 million next season. The Chargers need to find his
replacement. Dan Williams is not a traditional 3-4 defensive/nose tackle.
However, given his size (6-3 / 334 lbs) he should be more than capable
of making a successful transition. Looking around the NFL today, many
4-3 tackles have been able to make the change; Kris Jenkins (Jets) and
Shaun Rodgers (Browns) are two of the more notable individuals to do
so. The one common factor among all is their size. Being able to take
on NFL double teams and clog the center of the trenches is invaluable
to the success of the a 3-4 formation. Williams also provides even more
value considering the team is using 4-3 alignments more frequently. Ron
Rivera is more accustomed to the base 4-3 as he used this formation
while in Chicago. San Diego could not only use the depth if they remain
in a 3-4 alignment, but also the versatility of Williams. Cody is an option, but Williams is the better fit.

#26 - Arizona Cardinals
Anthony Davis
Offensive Tackle
Rutgers
Arizona has shown signs of struggle on the offensive line, both interior
and exterior positions. Mike Gandy is getting old and his play is a
reflection of that. Levi Brown has been decent (at best) anchoring the
right side of the line. Although Warner has one of the fastest releases
in the game, he still needs adequate time to make his reads properly.
However, all of that is a mute point since Warner retired after 2010.
It seems likely that Arizona will give the keys to Matt Linehart, but
Derrick Anderson was signed after being released from the Browns,
sparking a potential QB contraversy. Regardless, the Cardinals will
need to undoubtedly shore up the offensive line in order to protect the
QB. Anthony Davis is a massive OT often drawing comparison to
former Sooner, Jamaal Brown (New Orleans Saints). Davis has been
extremely productive while at Rutgers. Several analyst believe Davis
has the best footwork out of all the tackles in this years draft. This is
incredible considering Davis' size (6-6, 335). With Davis on the roster,
Arizona can feel comfortable heading into 2010 with a solid addition
to their offensive line. Look for Davis to come into the NFL and start immediately for Arizona.

#29 - NY Jets
Morgan Burnett
Safety
Georgia Tech
Previous Pick: Jerry Hughes

The Jets are in a perfect position to trade down at this spot, as
the team needs can addressed later on. Prior to the 2009 season
it was clear what position the Jets would target come April - Wide
Receiver. In season trades allowed the Jets to address the
position sooner than later as they traded for former 1st rounder
Braylon Edwards. The move gives Sanchez a legitimate #1 target,
which is all he needs given the teams #1 ranked rushing offense.
In addition to rushing accolades, the Jets earned the #1 overall
ranked defense in the NFL, and #1 passing defense in the league.
However good the passing defense may be, the team could use
an upgrade at the safety positions. Starter Kerry Rhodes was
benched mid-season for performance and traded to Arizona during
the offseason. Current starters, Eric Smith and Jim Leonard are
products of a fierce, pressuring front seven. At the corner position,
Darrell Reeves is the best CB in the league and the team solidified
both CB positions by trading for former All-Pro, Antonio Cromartie. Given the choice and
available prospects, the safety position provides the best available option. Morgan Burnett is
a star safety and could provide immediate starting potential. A three year starter, Morgan has
amassed 227 tackles and 14 interceptions. Morgan is a physical safety standing at 6'1, 210
pounds. Under the coaching of defensive mastermind Rex Ryan, Morgan will be an impact
player and help the Jets maintain their #1 defensive ranking in 2010.
